LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD

My Commitment to You as a candidate for the Princeton City Council: Preparation: I will conduct a meticulous review of every City Staff proposal to ensure your tax dollars are spent wisely. Collaboration: My goal is to build a united, professional Council that leads with respect and expertise. Smart Growth: I aim to attract medical and commercial businesses to lower the tax burden on homeowners.

EXPERIENCED. PREPARED. PROVEN.

Over the past year, I’ve worked hard to deliver real results for our residents: https://sharadforcitycouncil.com/advocacy-in-action

Fairer Billing: I successfully advocated for Winter Quarter Averaging, ensuring our wastewater bills are based on actual indoor usage rather than total water consumption. This means fair billing for every household. Better Transparency: I pushed for a more professional, large-scale firm to manage our PID administration. Now, every PID paying resident has online access to the documents and numbers that affect their property. Smart Growth: I believe Princeton is at a crossroads. We must work to attract more businesses to our city so we can diversify our tax revenue and reduce the heavy reliance on residential property taxes. As you consider your vote on May 2, 2026, remember that I am Sharad Ramani, committed to a better future for Princeton.

Experience You Can Trust. Values You Can Depend On.

My journey to this moment—running for Princeton City Council, Place 4 as Sharad Ramani—is built on three decades of professional discipline, a deep commitment to family, and a sincere desire to see our Princeton community thrive.

A Foundation of Service and Strength

For me, leadership begins at home. I have been happily married for 27 years, and my wife is my greatest supporter and partner in all things. She is the center of my world, and I look forward to continuing this beautiful journey with her for the rest of our lives.

My life is guided by strong family values and a belief in spiritualism. In life’s most challenging moments, I lean on my spiritual practice for the mental strength and peace required to make clear, ethical decisions. I believe that a leader who is grounded in their values is a leader who can be trusted to serve others.

30+ Years of Professional Excellence

My professional career spans over 30 years as a leader in global procurement and strategic sourcing. I have a verifiable track record of driving success in complex environments, managing annual budgets exceeding $500 million.

Throughout my career, I have been a champion for:

Fiscal Responsibility: Implementing programs that captured over $50M in strategic savings.

Results-Oriented Leadership: Earning the Bell Labs President’s Gold and Silver awards for flawless execution and innovation.

Integrity and Transparency: Transforming fragmented organizations into high-performing teams built on accountability.

Why I Am Running

Princeton is my home, and I have seen firsthand the challenges our rapid growth presents. I am running for Princeton City Council because I believe my professional expertise in fiduciary responsibility is exactly what our City Council needs right now.

I am committed to 'doing the homework'—meticulously reviewing every document and asking the tough questions to ensure your tax dollars are treated with respect. My goal is a Princeton that attracts commercial and medical businesses to diversify our tax base, taking the pressure off homeowners while providing world-class services to our residents. I ask for your vote on May 2, 2026.

Life in the Community

When I am not advocating at City Council meetings or working with my clients, you can usually find me enjoying the simple things that make life rich:

The Great Outdoors: I am an avid walker and hiker, and I cherish the time spent exploring our local trails and parks.

A Good Book: I am a passionate reader and rarely go anywhere without a book by my favorite authors: David Baldacci, John Grisham, or James Patterson.

I am Sharad Ramani, and I am ready to work for you.

Where I Stand: A Practical Vision for Princeton City Council

As your representative for Place 4, I, Sharad Ramani, believe in leadership that is prepared, professional, and proactive. My positions are rooted in over 30 years of fiscal experience and a commitment to keeping our city affordable and safe.

🏗️ Smart Growth & Tax Diversification

"We must move from a residential-only tax model to a business-friendly city that funds itself."

Princeton is growing at an incredible rate, but our current reliance on residential property taxes is unsustainable. My priority is to aggressively attract commercial and medical establishments to Princeton. By diversifying our revenue base, we can fund quality services—like our police and infrastructure—without placing the entire financial burden on homeowners.

💰 Fiscal Responsibility & Lower Utility Costs

"Your tax dollars and utility payments should be managed with the highest level of discipline."

I am a firm believer in core conservative fiscal principles. I have already successfully advocated for Winter Quarter Averaging, ensuring residents are billed fairly for wastewater based on actual indoor usage rather than total water consumption. On the Princeton City Council, I will continue to hunt for efficiencies that keep money in your pocket.

🔍 Transparency & Accountability

"Residents deserve full access to the data and documents that affect their lives."

I believe in "doing the homework." I successfully led the push to move our PID administration to a professional firm that provides full online access to financial documents for residents. As a Council member, I will meticulously review every staff report and budget proposal to ensure that transparency is not just a goal, but a requirement.

🤝 Collaborative & Professional Governance

"A united council is a productive council."

Professionalism at City Hall is non-negotiable. I believe Council members must draw on each other's strengths and specific expertise. I am committed to having an open, healthy, and professional dialogue with City Staff and my fellow Council members. This ensures that the city progresses the right way, with a shared vision that puts the residents' interests first.

🛡️ Fiduciary Duty to Residents

"I will come to every meeting prepared to ask the right questions."

Being a Council member is a serious responsibility. With 30+ years of experience managing budgets exceeding $500M, I understand the importance of fiduciary duty. I will not just "rubber stamp" items; I will ensure every project and expense is scrutinized for its value to the taxpayers of Princeton.

Ready to lead on Day One.

My experience is not just in my professional workplace; it is in the results I have already delivered for Princeton residents. I ask for your vote on May 2, 2026, to bring this level of dedication to Place 4.
